Anagram connects to your Shopify store to sync your product catalog. Once connected, your agent can recommend products, answer questions about them, show product cards in chat, and attribute sales back to conversations in Analytics.
Connecting
- In Anagram, go to Brain and open the Catalog view.
- Click Connect Shopify.
- Enter your
myshopify.com domain. You can find it in your Shopify admin under Settings → Domains.
- Approve the install.
Connecting installs the Anagram app on your Shopify store. You don’t need to manage anything in the Shopify admin afterward; all configuration happens in Anagram.
How syncing works
Anagram syncs with your Shopify catalog automatically every day. If you’ve just changed products and don’t want to wait, open the Catalog in Brain and click Sync now.
Syncs can take a few minutes depending on how many active products you have. Anagram notifies you when a sync finishes.
What gets synced
Product information including titles, descriptions, prices, tags, collections, and metafields. The agent uses all of it, so richer product data in Shopify means better answers. Tags and collections also power suggestion sets, which pin specific suggested questions to groups of products.
Anagram also picks up your store’s default currency and uses it on product cards shown to shoppers.
The agent can only be as accurate as your catalog. If descriptions are thin or sizing details live only in an image, consider moving that information into the product description or metafields. Shoppers will start asking the agent about it either way.
